You've listed the bike, set what seems like a fair price, and posted it online. A week later — nothing. Before lowering the price, diagnose the actual problem. Here are the most common reasons listings fail to attract buyers.
---
This is the most common cause. A listing with dark, blurry, or too-few photos is ignored. Buyers judge condition visually first. If they cannot see the bike clearly, they move on to the next listing.
**Fix:** Reshoot with natural light, covering all angles (full bike both sides, front, rear, dashboard, engine, any blemishes). See Article 37 for a full photo guide.
---
If identical or similar bikes are consistently listed RM500–RM1,000 cheaper, buyers will choose those instead. Check current listings for your model, year, and mileage range on MotoPlace.my and honestly compare.
**Fix:** Adjust to market price, or clearly articulate in the listing why yours justifies a premium (very low mileage, complete service history, recent replacements).
---
"Condition baik, no issue, serious buyer only" tells a buyer nothing. It does not build trust and it does not differentiate your listing from the other 20 similar ones.
**Fix:** Rewrite with specific condition details, mileage, service history, road tax and insurance status. See Article 36 for a complete description guide.
---
If you've only listed on one platform, you are reaching a fraction of potential buyers. Different platforms have different audiences.
**Fix:** List on MotoPlace.my (motorcycle-specific) and share to relevant Facebook groups and community boards. More exposure = more enquiries.
---
Buyers who ask questions and receive no reply within a few hours often move on. In a competitive market, response speed matters.
**Fix:** Enable notifications and reply promptly, even if just to confirm you received the message and will respond in detail shortly.
---
If a buyer has to ask too many basic questions (road tax valid? any accidents? mileage?), many simply will not bother. They'll contact the seller whose listing already answers everything.
**Fix:** Include road tax and insurance expiry, mileage (from odometer photo), accident history, and reason for selling in the listing itself.
---
Sounds basic — but some listings omit a clear contact number or set restrictions that make it hard to reach the seller. Include your WhatsApp number prominently.
---
Before concluding there's no market interest, ask:
• [ ] Do I have at least 6–8 good quality photos?
• [ ] Is my price within market range for this model and condition?
• [ ] Does my description include mileage, road tax, insurance, and condition details?
• [ ] Am I responding to enquiries within a few hours?
Fix whichever of these is missing and refresh the listing. In most cases, enquiries follow.
Update your listing on MotoPlace.my.
